So now I want to set-up a manhunt event. A few of us in the prisoner outfit escape and have to be chased through Agartha by people in the Heat outfit.
I'm not sure why there are still complaints. I've seen "female cop oufit" and a "military male costume" requested quite a number of times in the few months I've been checking this forum.
Don't get me wrong, I haven't bought either one, but I appreciate the fact they actually listen and take note of requests. Hopefully mine will be met eventually with that female Gothica outfit :P *nudge-nudge wink-wink*
Heck, I don't even play the game anymore, though I still check back every Tuesday and buy the new clothing if it suits my taste. Now you've released "revealing" (I'm not going to say they're skimpy, because those ARE proper outfits, stop discriminating) outfits and community requested cop outfit... I ask you to compare the sales against the player location and their age group. Different culture and age also tend to like things differently.
There are lots of whiners who rarely spends a penny, so I say let the money speak the truth.
So I suppose they kind of "listened", but they seem to be so maladjusted that their version of these requests come from what might be found in porn films rather than the reality that most adults live in.
adjective, skimp·i·er, skimp·i·est.
1. lacking in size, fullness, etc.; scanty: a skimpy hem; a skimpy dinner."
That cop tunic barely covers her privates, which makes it skimpy. Just saying.
Being a "proper outfit" and being "skimpy" are not necessarily mutually exclusive. No one is discriminating in using that term, they're just stating the obvious.
I retracted my "slutty" qualifier because I do agree it is a judgment label, which is unfair. However, I just want to say that I appreciate many of the recent comments in this thread. The recent clothing options for women do make it seem like an unnecessary emphasis on the objectification of women. I do find it verging on insulting. Someone pointed out that if the male character were objectified similarly, many of us would not be complaining.
Khristen, as a female myself, I understand where you come from, these aren't costumes that most of us ladies would wear in real-life, not even for a Halloween costume party. But this is gaming, and in the 10 years I have been a gamer, I've learned to accept that most female chars in games are depicted in one way, shape or form as very sexy, to appeal to a male audience. They either have abnormal proportions (especially in the chest area), show too much leg, too much behind or too much cleavage. I can name only 2 characters that make an exception, those being Portal 2's Chell and Faith from Mirror's Edge.
With TSW having a large number of male players running around with female characters, I don't find it that surprising they chose to go with "sexy" cop, instead of giving us a female cop suit similar to the one on Helen Bannerman in Kingsmouth. I would also prefer less revealing outfits, since I feel the look of my character represents me as a person, and I'd never go for some of the items in the game.
I just don't understand how they could see a request for a "police woman" outfit in the clothing request thread and think that the "Heat" costume is what was meant. Or maybe they aren't pulling ideas for outfits from that thread.
So either the thread is not being utilized and therefore is a waste of time, or there is a major disconnect between what is being requested and what is being put in.
I'm not current on the thread, but maybe someone asked for an apron, which led to Meat is Murder.
