I don't think you know what you're talking about. Marx and Nietzche were deconstructionists. Why would they be affiliated with organizations seeking to preserve or enhance order?

Marx would totally support an organization if it was not capitalistic. Obviously the current iteration of the illuminatii would rankle, but it was pointed out earlier that our societies predate modern economics. In fact, if he bought the hype than illuminati would fit quite well with the self-empowerment angle, and just like some of the revealed NPCs, he could hate on the patrician dickholes giving orders all he wants to, as free speach is one of the perks.

<sigh> Marx wasn't anti-capitalistic... in fact, he thought it was the best thing so far. Beats the pants off of feudalism, slave states, and so on. He just thought the there was only so long workers were going to put up having the products of their work taken away by people who weren't necessarily doing any work. In that sense, I don't think he'd go for either the Templars or the Illuminati.

He was more informed by the old Hegelian dialetic: two men meet, one ends up dominating the other, the master ends up becoming dependent on the service of the slave, and then the slave eventually throws the master off because he has no similar need of the master.

This is CLOSER to Dragon, but Dragon does have a very mysterious secret domination thing going on too which he could easily be against. Who's going to put up with secret overlords any more than overt overlords? Still, the vaguarity might sucker him in long enough that he can't leave, as it has quite a few of Dragon's acolytes.

Except that he believed religion was a human contrivance and was holding humanity back. Ergo, not Templar. Given his opposition to a ruling class, not Illuminati either.

Doctor Why: excellent post.

Come to think of it, I don't think Marx would've had many issues with socialism. That's an institution I think all three factions could ride on. Granted, our power would be diminished slightly, but not enough to take us out of the game by any means.
